Continue the development of the Industrial Estate to ensure it can attract new companies, employees and is a location where your company is proud to bring its customers.

Physical landscape improvements
Introduce a programme of physical landscape improvements onto the estate in line with a revised landscape master plan. The artists drawings opposite provide a guide as to the types of image and landscaping improvements that the Business Improvement District will deliver.

Maintenance
The Business Improvement District will manage a programme of maintenance for landscaping (with the exception of grass cutting and name plate cleaning which is a statutory obligation of the Council). The last few years has seen a range of improvements on the estate. Many of these improvements do not have to be legally maintained by the Local Authority. Therefore it is proposed that the BID will manage a small maintenance programme to ensure standards of landscaping are maintained. The Winsford 1-5 Group will also continue to lobby the Local Authority to ensure that standards of grass cutting etc are maintained and were feasible improved.

Unit Numbers
The consultations have revealed that companies sometime struggle receiving deliveries, due to the lack of a unit numbering system on the industrial estate. The establishment of formal unit numbers, and the installation of company name plates with these unit numbers on will make the process of delivery drivers and visitors finding companies significantly easier.

Business Frontage Charter
The Winsford 1-5 Group recognises that it is not just estate wide actions that are required to improve the image of the estate. Individual companies have a responsibility to maintain their sites, and accordingly the BID will develop and promote a 'Business Frontage Charter' for companies to sign up to, which will set basic standards of maintenance and appearance that all companies will seek to achieve.

Signage improvements
The plan will implement signage improvements on and around the estate. Examples of signage improvements that may be made include new signs from the M6 motorway and the A556 coming from Chester along with signs at each exit point from the estate thanking drivers for visiting Winsford Industrial Estate.
